I have an Acrylic Painting I painted specifically for the Car Art show in this show.  I am not posting the actual image here until after the opening.   But this one is for all the Road Exers,  The title of the painting is, "1978 Road Rescue Type II Ambulance"

Artist Statement

Cars are a defining element of our current life style.  We drive cars, we love cars, we hate cars. We need cars of all types to move us and all of our other wondrous and mundane things.  And we can have emotional relationships with our cars, though they don't respond with much insight.  I have had a 20 year relationship with ambulances, which are nothing more than specialized, custom cars.  This painting is a quick take on the ambulance parked in my driveway.  It is a car, or as my insurance says - a "conversion van" and I get a multi-car discount. 

p.s. All of the lights, sirens, and other systems specific to the ambulance still are in functional order.
