Books Mini Books Booklets Chapbooks

I got the idea to make mini-books from the International Cartoonist Conspiracy. Local members were included in a comic art show at Altered Esthetics Gallery and I purchased a bento box containing around fifty mini-comics.

The first mini-book I created was called "Little Prints" and was a booklet of the Art Trading Cards (ATC) I made in 2007 on the run up to Christmas. This booklet is mostly the woodcut prints of my family, but does contain ALL the ATC's I made in 2007. This book is a quarter size book as the book is 4.25"x5.5" and I get four pages per standard sheet. During 2008 I created several more at this size based around various series of work.

Also in 2008 I started writing what are called Mini-stories or flash writing. The standard for flash writing is that the story is five hundred or less words. The format for these stories is a 3"Tx2"W book with eight interior pages. Depending on word usage and paragraphs the flash story fits easily onto the eight pages. I have made specific illustrations for the covers on some of these.

This book is compiled of the black and white working proofs of my series of numbers woodcut prints. This unique edition of the book features charcoal stenciled letters on red cotton T-shirt material.
